Editorial Policy

Last updated: March 2026

My Anxiety World is committed to producing content that is accurate, honest, and genuinely useful. This page explains how we research, write, review, and maintain the content on this site.

Who We Are

My Anxiety World is run by Anthony Caroleo. Anthony is not a clinician — he writes from the perspective of someone who has lived with anxiety personally and supported a partner through it for many years. Where clinical accuracy is required, we reference established medical guidance and clearly indicate the basis for every claim.

How We Research Our Content

Every article published on My Anxiety World is researched before it is written. Our primary sources include:

  • NHS (National Health Service) — the authoritative source for health information in the UK
  • NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) — clinical guidelines on anxiety, panic disorders, and related conditions
  • PubMed / peer-reviewed journals — where specific studies or clinical findings are cited
  • Mind, Anxiety UK, and other UK mental health charities — for lived experience perspectives and UK-specific support information

We do not cite tabloid health coverage, anonymous online sources, or unverified personal testimonials as factual evidence.

How We Write Our Content

My Anxiety World targets people who are experiencing anxiety or supporting someone who is. Our writing principles are:

  • Plain English — we avoid unnecessary clinical jargon. Where medical terms are used, they are explained.
  • Evidence-based — claims about symptoms, treatments, or outcomes are grounded in NHS/NICE guidance or cited research.
  • Empathetic, not alarmist — we never sensationalise anxiety symptoms or overstate risks.
  • Practical — every article aims to leave the reader with something useful, whether that is a technique, a resource, or a clearer understanding.

Medical Disclaimer

My Anxiety World is an informational resource, not a medical service. Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Readers should always consult a qualified healthcare professional for personalised guidance.

Full details are in our Medical Disclaimer.

Affiliate Disclosure

Some pages on My Anxiety World contain affiliate links. If you click a link and make a purchase or sign up for a service, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. This never influences our editorial decisions — we only link to products and services we would genuinely recommend.

Affiliate relationships are always disclosed clearly on the relevant page.

Content Review and Updates

Health information changes. We review our content on an ongoing basis and update articles when NHS or NICE guidance changes, when new evidence emerges, or when we identify errors. All articles carry a “Last Reviewed” date so readers know how current the information is.

If you believe any content on this site is inaccurate or out of date, please contact us and we will investigate promptly.

Corrections Policy

If a factual error is identified in any article, we correct it as soon as possible and update the “Last Reviewed” date. We do not quietly delete errors — where a significant correction has been made, we note it at the top of the article.
